Water access homes at Deep Creek Lake can be very different. Virtually all lakefront homes count as also having lake access, so some properties are also waterfront. The main amenity they all offer is access to the waters of Deep Creek Lake. Some lake access requires a short walk to the water; some requires loading up your gear in the back of a golf cart or car and driving to the lake access parking area. Every community has different styles of access, too. It may be a huge, elaborate access area with thousands of feet of water frontage to use (Sky Valley, Ski Harbor) or it could be a 10 foot strip of land to get you to the water. Water access typically allows swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing & other non-power watercraft usage - but, water access does not always guarantee a dock slip or usage of a personal watercraft or other power boat. Not all water access areas have sandy beaches like the Deep Creek Lake State Park - some are rocky, mushy & some can be swampy. Water depth varies, as well.
